Hi.
Recently, an Italian company called CambraTech, started to sell an Italian-speaking talking microwave and my parents decided to give me a super-mega-gift for Christmas, the problem is the microwave does not heat anything at all. It talks, but nothing else.
It arrived in a very huge parcel, it's brand-new so I have not learnt the keys position by heart so much.
As I know most technology problems come from the user not knowing how to figure it out with commands, I am trying to talk to foreign blind people as here in Italy I have not found any person with this oven and knowing how to use it (the vendor is on vacation and is coming bach in 10th of January) and, maybe, abroad I can find people who have the oven already, or someone who can suggest me where to talk to LG support for this tool.
Well, I try to describe the object.
It has of course the door to open, with the handle on the right.
The keyboard is on the right of the handle, keys are round, touching them you feel like small rings where the fingertips perfectly enter in, and you press inside those "rings" that contain the keys.
The first row is 2 keys: Clock and timer.
The last row, 2 keys too, is start and stop.
Counting from the top of the oven, the fifth row has 3 keys and is intended to set minutes (the 3 keys are 10 minutes, one minute, 10 seconds)
2 rows above the one of minutes, there is other 3 keys. Defrost, auto-cook and auto-roast.
The speech volume is set by pressing the "clock" button till the speech says "setting volume" then with "more" and "less", the keys on the minute's row, you set the volume louder or lower. Same thing for the clock, you just set it by pressing "clock" till it says "setting clock"...i do not know the exact English translation of speech messages, I just know the commands are written in English, on the keys.
It has 3 options, one is microwave, one is grill and the other is for other kind of cooking but I do not know the exact English name, it's a combined microwave... "grill fan" maybe, I hope to make me understand
So, before sending it back to the vendor and make him substitute the oven sending me another parcel, I'd like to know if someone has any idea of which is the model, the only things I found on the label is "cambratech" that's the vendor's name, and "cobolt speechmaster" which I suppose to be the speech engine, I'd need to know the model as I could contact LG assistance directly.
Or, if here on zone bbs there is some people who can suggest me some group or mailing list of blind users who know about these kinds of technologies.
Thanks a lot.
